Barry first completed a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Limerick in 1999. He then went on to complete a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation at the University of Salford England, in 2002.
In 2003 Barry undertook the CSCS exam and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Barry is an avid footballer and has 5 F.A.I. Junior Cup Winners medals, 3 Munster Junior Cup Winners medals and numerous Premier League and Cup medals whilst playing with Fairview Rangers A.F.C. He was capped at international level in 2004 for the Irish Junior team.

In 2010 he succeeded in becoming a Certified Athletic Rehabilitation Therapist. He frequently attends courses & conferences in the U.S and U.K, keeping up-to-date with the latest advances in sports medicine.
